Loved Ones

My little sister is beautiful, sweet & very very talented!
I am so proud of her.

The above photograph was taken by her! It is so beautifully composed,
with just the right amount of light and colour!
She gains deep enjoyment from taking photographs,
particularly those of the environment!

On to my next love, my cat Sally!
(my sister also took the below photos)

I have had Sally since my 5th Birthday so in November she will be going onto the age of 15!
Although she is getting old she is still really energetic, happy and is enjoying her spoilt lifestyle
(relaxing & getting fed at her every request)

We took her to visit the vet the other day
(which she didn't thoroughly enjoy)
since we had noticed she hadn't be acting her
usual self and was looking a little
under the weather! The veterinarian took a
blood sample from her to test for any infections.
Sadly I found out yesterday that she has a
benign tumour on her thyroid gland, which is in her neck!
We will be putting her on medication which will
reduce the symptoms of the tumour,
although this will unfortunately not get rid of it,
only subdue the symptoms :(

Hopefully everything will be fine and she will continue to live her spoilt rotten life!
Get better soon Sally!

Paris, Texas

This movie has to be one of my all time favourites.

...And I can't believe I had forgotten about it,
I only got reminded of it when my sister mentioned
if I had ever seen the movie Paris, Texas? I was like of course I have!

What made this film for me was the extraordinary cinematography,
each frame was like looking at a photograph, each telling a story of
its own! This film expresses the sacredness of family reaching and
touching the hearts of everyone!

Mesmerising

Lou Doillon...My what splendid style she has!

With 24 years of age on her she has already become one of the world's new young fashionistas. She is the daughter of Jane Birkin (has a Hermes bag named after her), a British actress and model and French film director Jacques Doillon. Known for her eccentric and quirky style, Doillon's rebellious attitude won't allow any judgements get to in terms of fashion!

“My mother boasts that when I was nine, a shop asked if they could nick my style for one of its collections,” she says. “I used to put Indian leggings under short dresses, worn with tiny Grateful Dead T-shirts and Rollerblades, and I had long dreadlocks". <-------- Already at the age of 9 she was seen to have exceptional taste in style!
Her attributes:
1. Actress
2. Singer

3. Model - appeared in shows for Vivienne Westwood, Christian Lacroix and Sonia Rykiel, just to name a few! And has been the face for Chanel!

4. Muse for Givenchy and her best friend/designer, Milla Jovovich.
5. Fashion design collaboration with Lee Cooper, her all-denim collection has already made its appearance in London shop Harrods.

She effortlessly mixes masculine with feminine and odd colours with neutral shades ----- that's what you call jealousy!

eyes WIDE open

Young Melbourne based fashion designer, Katya Peker,
has already stamped her impression
in the Australian fashion world with her label Yekaterina Peker.

Her Autumn collection featured at the RAFW Transeasonal 2008 incorporates pieces that are quirky with a romantic feminine feel; pastel pinks, blues and deep shades of purple. This collection envelopes hints of volume and draping, with a great attention to detail.

Her pieces are all about originality!

Please check out her Autumn collection in stores now!

late night habits

I have this horrible horrible habit of staying up late just to browse and purchase clothes. I'll conjure up in my head all these things i 'need' (want), convincing myself they'll be gone if I don't stay up now and buy them! I visit all sorts of fashion boutiques online, but my favourite place of all time is Ebay (as I have mentioned in another blog).

Tonight I purchased this Mint Jodi Arnold dress;

Items I received in the mail last week;
Biba platform shoes + Miu Miu skinny grey pants.

WOW

Earlier today myself and a friend, Elita attended Fashion Weekend an event arranged by the popular fashion magazine Shop till you drop at the Royal Hall of Industries.
Tickets were $20...these were bought a few weeks earlier so the excitement of attending had gradually peaked and we were both really excited to go!

The main attraction that caught our eyes was the fact that 70 of Australia's top fashion designers collections would be on sale at reduced prices! My friend and I were extremely ecstatic, both being obsessed with fashion especially if its going at reduced prices!

On the actual day...

1. Since the advertisement for the event stated 'designers collections' it made us and others to believe that it would be the designers current collections especially seeing it had just been RAFW in Sydney - although this wasn't the case!

2. As we began looking at the stands of each designer we noticed that this was definitely not the current seasons collections, some of the clothes which I had seen before were from last years winter stock!
What person who is obsessed with fashion is going to buy clothes that were a year old?
Some of which were shockingly still pricey!

3. The only new season clothes that were seen that day were only probably on the people attending!

4. My friend and I were highly disappointed and still are! we had bought tickets for this event and were sooo excited to we would get some great cheap finds - we ended up going away with NOTHING!

.....This just proves everyone is just out for money...even if it is at the price of sacrificing the fashion standards of Australians!

your just too...BLONDE

Why is it always the things you want you can never get!

The context I am referring to is hair!

I am a dyed blonde head, and my goodness it soooo hard to achieve and be satisfied with the shade of blonde your hair has become! While speaking with my hairdresser on my visit yesterday, he too agreed (being a dyed blonde himself) that blonde is the most difficult colour to work with. Thus, it takes a couple years (and I am not exaggerating) over bleaching and toning and more bleaching and toning, to be entirely satisfied! (that your money has been worth haha!). I am still only half-satisfied with the shade of my hair and it has been just over 1.5 years since I began my transition from brunette to blonde.

...Is this merely a natural act of being a human (or maybe a woman) always doubting that something does not look quite right on yourself, instead believing and admiring others to have it better than you...even hair!

You can act?

Today I took on the role as an actress for Debora's short film "Where is my red heart shaped balloon?"

The story:
Follows the journey on an innocent girl who is on the search for the red heart shaped balloon in a photograph she has. She searches the entire city looking for a boy who has this balloon. She encounters situations where she finds a boy with a balloon but it turns out not to be her balloon, leaving her tired, frustrated and hopeless. At the end of the film, when all hope has disappeared, she sees a boy reaching out to her with the red heart shaped balloon in his hand! Is this an illusion? or has she really found her red heart shaped balloon?

Although the story follows as above, it is actually a metaphor for love!

My Role (The Girl):
No dialogue = emphasis on expression = difficult!
Since the film does not include dialogue it was quite difficult and frustrating at times to express the emotions and feelings needed!

All in all it was a very fun and enjoyable day!

Look forward to seeing the edited product Deb :)

Sorry!

Oops! I haven't blogged in a long time

.....But to tell you the truth nothing really interesting has happened to me lately :(

Addictive Qualities

I have this weird addiction with Ebay.

Not an addiction with buying items, but rather an addiction of finding attractive fashion items and saving them under 'My Favourites'.
AlthoughI never seem to take the time (or at least remember) to actually bid on the items.
Well on the odd occasion I sometimes buy!

One of my friends said she also does the same thing. I think I do this (and probably many others) since we know we are unable to freely spend our money on everything but instead still like to have a browse and save items just in case.

In a sense, its just like window shopping.

Below I have posted some images of recent Ebay favourites!

Split me in two

People can be quite strange at times.
Personalities
Moods and
Mannerisms
All come into play.

One on one situations/conversations in comparison to interaction
with a group of people, always seems to be different!

Such changes may be caused due to different circumstances, relationships between people
or
used simply as a way of protecting ourselves.
Its such a puzzle for one to digest.

Does one evitably change their personality to suit the likes of others? or
Is it a subconscious decision one is not aware of?

First & Foremost

To begin...

...confusion
...unsure
...sceptical
...nervous
...?

These were some of the feelings that clouded my mind when my
Citizen Journalism teacher told us that we will be creating a blog.

I guess I will never experience unless I try!

Till next time...
